$1 million a year. That’s how much money Wornick Foods in Cincinnati saves each year after Century Mechanical Solutions developed a design/build plan for increased cooling capacity and a large-scale water reclamation project.
Wornick, a leader supplier of convenience foods and military rations, needed an expanded combination of chillers, pumps and cooling towers that would significantly reduce water use. Installation of process piping and HVAC equipment had to be done around an existing, operating chiller system and retorts used in Wornick’s distillation process.
Our experienced design/build team staged the installation of two chillers so that one was always in operation. That enabled HVAC and ammonia refrigeration work to be performed with little interruption of the company’s production.
